Our Professionals

Robert Byrne
I am a Chicago native who was fortunate to attend Arizona State University for my undergraduate degree, and I fell in love with Arizona as soon as I arrived here. I returned to Chicago to attend law school at Loyola University, and I realized almost immediately that I missed Arizona, and probably should have attended ASU Law School. I took the Illinois Bar Exam, but I returned to Phoenix as soon as I graduated law school, and I have never looked back. I am thrilled that I was able to raise two great boys, now adults, in the Arizona lifestyle.
My entire professional career has been focused on litigation in the field of insurance defense, but I have also handled some personal injury claims, usually for friends. During my career, I have first chaired 35+ jury trials to verdict. I have tried a wide variety of cases including motor vehicle accidents, construction defects, premises liability, trucking accidents, bad faith litigation, and declaratory judgment actions. I've handled numerous appeals involving issues as diverse as the discovery rule in abuse cases with repressed memory, uninsured motorist coverage, and the recovery of attorney’s fees in a negligent construction and breach of contract case. I have been blessed to have a diverse practice, and I am delighted to be here at O’Connor & Dyet with attorneys who share a passion for their clients and the law.
